Selfishness/Egoism

Asking AI for a definition, I get these results: Selfishness: an attitude of caring only or mainly about one's own interests and well-being, with little or no regard for other people's needs. Egoism: a more formal or philosophical term indicating a doctrine or disposition that makes one's own self-interest the primary or exclusive motive of action. I see a lot of it, and for a thousand reasons. Because one's conscience screams, and to silence it, one fills one's head with "excuses" and "reasons." The end result? One does nothing.
