EMPATHY

Many people say it's useless, others say it's "for weaklings," still others say it "leads to compassion," and pedophiles and murderers don't deserve it. In my opinion, if there's no empathy, there's no room for noble feelings like love and compassion, and therefore we're not complete human beings, no matter who we're addressing. To avoid feeling it toward the "wrong people," we become less and less accustomed to using it, until our hearts are as hard as ice.
