In 2007, Grainne Kealy shattered every bone in her face when an airbag deployed during a 120mph crash, while her feet were on top of the dashboard. The airbag then blasted her knees up towards her head. The incident also resulted in a brain leak, minor brain injury, and the loss of two teeth. She lived without a forehead for two years between 2007 and 2009 before eventually having a new Italian ceramic one fitted.
