This is the Tropical Gardens RV park in San Leon, TX. I stayed there several months. It's near the Gulf of Mexico, and this pond is brackish water with some big fish.

The small living and kitchen area in my 24 foot fifth-wheel RV means that cooking on the gas range can heat up the space, even with the range hood. I read up on induction cooktops and ordered one, as they heat only the pan or pot, not the air. It works great, but care must be taken to choose the right setting for cooking temperature. This thing can boil water in under a minute!

My first two RVs were hitch pull travel trailers, so buying a fifth wheel, even a small 25 footer, was a learning experience for me. I bought a 1997 Chevy Silverado C2500 because it was a one-owner with only 53,000 miles to pull it. Overkill, but a great truck. Because it had been a farm truck, it had a gooseneck ball setup. I did some research and found the Andersen Ultimate Fifth-Wheel hitch. It pulls well and is easy to remove when not in use so the whole truck bed is available.
