The only time I bought a new BMW was with 15% off. That cost me $50K. Leasing cost me around 400 CHF per month, insurance around $2K per year. So $5800 per year. After 5 years, I had paid off over $30K and just had to add $20K and the car was mine.

I know the economic principles that show that tariffs are harmful etc. But that supposed that all people and countries are of equal value.
